Mangalore is the one of the fastest growing city. Many building are constructed every year with good designs and architectural features which needs to be appreciated and recognized. Moreover, in view of attracting the goodwill of general public and others in the field of Civil Construction Industry, the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Mangalore centre in association with Ultratech Cement Ltd., have planned to give Annual Awards for the Outstanding Structures constructed in South Canara and Udupi Districts.

The main benefit of this award is that local engineers, architects and contractors will have a chance to come into the limelight. Generally in National & State level awards, big projects of multi crore values are only considered. Invariably small buildings remain out of this competition, thus not being recognized, for all the good work done. In district level a special emphasis is given for these types of buildings. The Engineers and Architects from the rural areas also will get proper recognition. There shall be healthy competition among the building designers to do better, innovative and Outstanding structures every year.

The award will be given in 03 categories

• ACCE(I) MLR-Ultratech Award - For Outstanding Concrete Structures in DK and Udupi
• ACCE(I) MLR-Ultratech Award - For Outstanding Residential Villa in DK District
• ACCE(I) MLR-Ultratech Award - For Outstanding Residential Villa in Udupi District
  
  

General Instructions for the Applicants:

1. The awards are open for structures completed 2006 onwards
2. Copy of the Occupancy Certificate issued by MCC may be attached
3. Any agency relating to the building can apply for the award ie. owner, architect, engineer, contractor or the sub-contractor
4. Applying for each category has to be done seperately
5. A CD containing Videos, Photos, Diagrams, Drawings is desirable
6. Give seperate write-up if required. Give enough details to justify the structure as outstanding/excellent/innovative one and distinctly the best
7. All the winners shall be informed seperately
8. An individual can apply for any no. of buildings in same or different categories
9. An independent jury panel comprising of professionals from the construction industry will decide the awards
10. The decision of the panel of juries shall be final and binding to all concerned
11. The application should reach the above address before 16th November 2009
